NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals Schedule: Boston Celtics Look to Regain Advantage, Host Orlando Magic in Game 5

The Boston Celtics are back in position to regain home-court advantage on Tuesday night when they host the Orlando Magic and they have Glen Davis to thank for that as the big man sank a 21-foot jumper at the buzzer in Game 4 to even their best-of-seven Eastern Conference playoff series at 2-2.

After surviving a draining seven-game series against the Chicago Bulls it appears as if the Celtics are again heading in that direction with the Magic while the Cleveland Cavaliers sit back and await the winner after they completed a sweep of the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night.

Boston will certainly get a boost returning to TD Banknorth Garden but that is no guarantee of a victory as they dropped the first game of the series against the Magic on their own court. The Celtics can’t bet that they see another poor shooting performance from Hedo Turkoglu and J.J. Redick on Tuesday and if either put up average numbers Boston could have their hands full. Perhaps most surprising about the Game 4 outcome was that Orlando was actually in a position to win as the Celtics hit 52 percent from the floor and out-rebounded the Magic as well. The one glaring difference was at the free-throw line where the Celtics were a dismal 18-27 compared to the Magic who hit 21-28.

The Celtics have had another strong series from Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce and while Ray Allen has had his ups and downs he is a big-game player and will certainly be ready for Tuesday night. The Boston defense will likely collapse on Dwight Howard and force Turkoglu, Rashard Lewis, Courtney Lee and Rafer Alston to beat them but all four of those guys are capable of putting up huge numbers and if they get hot that should open Howard up for some easy buckets.

Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
