Suicide Car Bombing Near U.S. Military Base in Afghanistan Kills Seven

At least seven civilians have been killed and several more left injured after a suicide bomber exploded near a U.S. military base in the eastern Afghanistan town of Khost.

The casualties were all believed to be civilians who had been working at the U.S. military base Camp Salerno. Officials have said the death toll could rise.

According to reports a single suicide bomber detonated an explosive packed inside a vehicle just outside the base. It is the second suicide attack in two days in Khost as nine people were killed on Tuesday when a group of 30 Taliban militants attacked government buildings in the town before being suppressed by coalition forces.
