Summer Enrichment Camp Ideal for Homeschool Students

SuperCamp remains the leading choice in summer camps for homeschoolers

It’s a question that parents all over the country face on an annual basis: What do I do with my kids this summer? Whether kids attend public, private, or homeschool, every one of them has up to three months of downtime to fill every summer. For homeschool parents, SuperCamp, a summer enrichment program that teaches 21st-century learning and life skills to teens is a perfect summer camp option. In fact, now in its 28th summer, SuperCamp has been a long-time favorite of homeschooling parents for years.

There are several SuperCamp programs offered each summer, each designed specifically for different ages and grade levels. The Junior Forum program is designed for middle school students age 11-13 and focuses on preparing students for high school. Senior Forum, the
high school summer camp for students age 14-18, provides SAT and ACT test preparation and equips students with valuable learning and life skills they need for the transition into college. Senior Forum graduates who want to continue to sharpen their skills can return the following year and progress to the Leadership Training Team and then onto the Leadership Forum, designed for high school upperclassmen.

Another great
homeschool camp option is Quantum U, a college success program for high school graduates and college students. Quantum U provides students with the college skills necessary to handle challenges, manage independence, and take full advantage of all of the exciting opportunities college has to offer.

SuperCamp is unique in that it deals with the entire person, devoting equal time to learning skills and life skills alike. In addition to the learning strategies and techniques the campers acquire, they also advance their communication, team-building, leadership, and interactive skills as well.

The student success that SuperCamp produces comes from a series of carefully orchestrated "mini-success moments" for each camper during the 10-day residential program by acknowledging every effort. The purpose of this exercise is to help build the confidence, self-esteem and motivation of each person while at camp. A recent doctoral study conducted with over 6,000 SuperCamp graduates showed that over 80 percent of graduates reported an increase in confidence, self-esteem, and motivation following the program.

Homeschool parents revel in the SuperCamp experience for many reasons. It allows their kids to gain accelerated learning and social skills in a high energy environment that they otherwise wouldn’t necessarily receive while in a homeschool setting. Just as with students that come from a traditional school setting, homeschool students graduate the 10-day program feeling refreshed and energetic about their learning capacity as well as their future. When parents hear their child say that they know they can accomplish anything they set their minds to, parents know that SuperCamp has been time and money well spent.

SuperCamp is hosted on seven college campus across the United States, including Stanford, Cornell, and Wake Forest Universities. For additional information on programs and enrollment, call 1-800-285-3276 or visit www.SuperCamp.com.
