I'm not sure where the sudden contempt for RIM products is based nor why but I do know that much of the criticism is not based on much substance. The new Torch 9810 is a winner in a number of ways. Yes, the 9810 kept the same form factor as the 9800 and, for some reason; people think this is a con. But wait a minute! Look at the Thunderbolt, Evo, Atrix, and even the beloved iPhone and tell me what's so good about those form factors.

As far as I'm concerned, the Torch's was and still sports a far superior look and feel than any of those 'candy-bar' styled designed. The Torch is sleek and chic while the others are just ... eh. I'm glad RIM kept the design.

You'll notice right away that what calls "Liquid Graphics" technology, is a speedy and responsive touch experience in both browsing the web and opening and operating various apps. While it's not dual core, you'd never know because the device performs very well in a rapid sense.
