College Summer Camp Prepares Students for College Success
From August 2 – 9, Colorado College in Colorado Springs will play host to Quantum U, where college students can learn valuable tools to get focused on their future. One of the key components to the success of Quantum U is the ability to get students college-ready and career-ready by teaching them how to learn. By learning how to identify and tap into their own specific learning style, they can cater what they learn specifically to their own brain. Every interaction at Quantum U is purposefully crafted to appeal emotionally to students, in order for them to gain a goal-oriented vision while triggering their inner drive to achieve.
Quantum U students learn valuable academic and life skills that promote achievement inside and outside the classroom. On the personal side, participants learn about the “Eight Keys of Excellence,” which include Integrity, Failure Leads to Success, Speak with Good Purpose, This Is It, Commitment, Ownership, Flexibility, and Balance. These qualities provide students with a powerful framework for success that helps create a foundation for living a proactive, positive lifestyle. Academically, students acquire skills in reading, college writing, and learning how to study in the college environment more effectively. The college skills taught at Quantum U enable students to be more efficient and productive, ensuring that they are indeed college-ready.
Quantum U is based on the idea that students need to learn how to study before they can actually study effectively. Exposure to the ‘Eight Keys’ and to the broader 21st-century skills portion of the curriculum is one of the many aspects of Quantum U that makes the eight day experience unique among college success programs. Students depart with important new college reading and writing skills while learning how to study in college, and with their newly-acquired life skills, they gain the confidence, motivation, and interpersonal skills to apply them effectively in their lives.
