NBA star and musician Wayman Tisdale has died. Tisdale,
44, died Friday morning after a battle with cancer.
Tisdale played in the NBA for 12 seasons with the Indiana
Pacers, Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns. He retired in 1997 to focus on his
music career. Tisdale released his debut album, Power Forward, in 1995 and released
his final album, Rebound, in 2008.
He was first diagnosed with bone cancer in February 2008
after breaking his leg in a fall in his home. Tisdale underwent extensive
chemotherapy, which didn’t work. His leg was amputated in August, but his battle
with cancer continued.
Tisdale is survived by his wife, Regina, and their two
daughters.
