NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals Schedule: Boston Celtics Face Another Game 7, Host Orlando Magic in Series Finale

The Boston Celtics appear determined to play as many games in the post season as they did in the regular season as they face yet another Game 7 situation on Sunday when they host the Orlando Magic with the winner moving on to face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals.

By all accounts the Celtics are lucky to be in a Game 7 situation yet they have also let an opportunity slip through their fingers and now it all comes down to one more game. For Celtics fans they will be hoping that the home-court advantage plays itself out yet Boston hasn’t exactly been automatic at home. They dropped their first game of the series at home and nearly did the same in Game 5 had it not been for a huge comeback.

Orlando fans are still scratching their heads in amazement as they try to figure out how the Magic haven’t already advanced. They had a 2-1 lead on the Celtics and were in position for a 3-1 lead had it not been for a last second 21-footer from Glen Davis to even the series in Game 4. In Game 5 Orlando let a 14-point advantage in the fourth quarter slip away and they found themselves trailing in the series 3-2 before bouncing back at home and taking Game 6.

Boston has managed to get this far despite an awful series from Ray Allen yet Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce have continued to put up solid numbers while they have had great support from Glen Davis, Kendrick Perkins, Stephon Marbury and Brian Scalabrine. For Orlando the question has been who runs their offense. While Dwight Howard has found easy buckets down low and dominated the glass the Magic perimeter game has been inconsistent. When Hedo Turkoglu, Rashard Lewis, Rafer Alston, J.J. Redick and Courtney Lee are on the Celtics don’t have enough stoppers but when those guys go cold Boston’s defense can collapse on Howard and the buckets are harder to come by.

Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m. ET.
