NBA Scores Eastern Conference Playoffs: Orlando Magic Stun Boston Celtics in Game 7, Advance to Face Cleveland Cavaliers

Hedo Turkoglu scored 25 points and dished out 12 assists, Dwight Howard added 12 points and 16 rebounds and Rashard Lewis finished with 19 points and 5 boards as the Orlando Magic used a huge fourth quarter to bury the Boston Celtics 101-82 on Sunday to win their best-of-seven playoff series 4-3 and will now face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals.

Over the first five minutes of the game Boston managed to stay close but a 12-2 run from Orlando put the Magic in front 22-9 and, aided by five three-pointers in the frame, they went into the second with a 27-17 advantage. Ray Allen tried to keep the Celtics in the game and had Boston within 39-33 after hitting a layup with 3:25 but Mickael Pietrus buried a triple to push the Magic lead back to nine with 2:27 left before the half. Boston didn’t falter though as Kendrick Perkins sank a pair of free-throws and then Allen hit a three-pointer and the Celtics had closed to 42-38 but Rafer Alston closed the half with a  triple to put Orlando in front 45-38.

Boston wouldn’t let the game get away in the third as they stayed within four for the first six minutes but then J.J. Redick sank a triple and Turkoglu followed with a three and Orlando was back in front 60-50. The Celtics, despite not shooting particularly well, still managed to hang close and went into the fourth quarter trailing by just five. That deficit was quickly elevated to 16 as the Magic opened the fourth with an 11-0 run and Boston was forced to try and claw their way back. With 4:20 left in the game Ray Allen had the Celtics within 90-78 after hitting a three pointer but Turkoglu answered with a three-pointer to start another 11-0 run and bury the Celtics in a 101-78 hole that they couldn’t overcome.

Orlando shot 51 percent from the floor including a remarkable 13-21 from beyond the three-point line while Boston struggled from long-range, hitting just 4-16 from that distance.
