Jerry West talks about his heart condition

Jerry West has recently updated the public about his health.  He is currently suffering from atrial fibrillation.  This is a heart rhythm disturbance.  West told The associated Press that “ An athlete is well aware with what’s going on in his body.  I knew there was something wrong.” 

West discussed this for the first time on Monday May 18, 2009.  This battle led him to retire from the LA Lakers nine years ago.  This battle started in his twenties.  “I pretty much have kept it hidden over the years,” sways West.
