Ground Beef Recall Issued for E Coli Scare

An Illinois meat company has issued a recall for more than 96,000 pounds of ground meat potentially contaminated with E. Coli.

The beef was produced by Valley Meats LLC of Coal Valley. The Department of Agriculture determined the meat could be contaminated with E. Coli after an outbreak of E. Coli-related illnesses was linked to Valley Meats.

The recalled products include the brands: Ultimate, Thick ‘N Savory, Klub, J and B, Grillmaster, 3s and other products with no specified brand. Each bears the establishment number ‘Est. 5712’ inside the USDA mark of inspection. The ground beef, some frozen and some refrigerated, was distributed across the nation.
