The Jewish New Year of Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown, September 28th, 2011. Friends and family in Jewish homes throughout the world will be sharing the high holidays together; the holiest days in the Jewish calendar, with prayer, laughter and hope for a year of peace and good, and of course feasting!
The Jewish New Year ushers in a bounty of traditional sweet cuisine - from dipping apples into honey to eating extra sweet challah. Food and drink are reflective of both the solemnity and joyousness of the holiday, and can be traced back through multiple family generations.
