Monday Night Foootball Preview
Monday Night Football kicks off the 2011 season with two games. The New England Patriots at the Miami Dolphins starts at 7:00 and Oakland Raiders at the Denver Broncos follows at 10:15. These games wrap up the first official week of NFL action.
New England should have little trouble getting by the Dolphins. One of the league's best teams year in and year out the Patriots have only gotten stronger after adding defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth and receiver Chad Ochocinco.
The Dolphins have a talented pair of cornerbacks but will face trouble against the onslaught of receivers that the Patriots can put in at any time. Dolphins quarterback Chad Henne is leading the offesnse on the field and will look for help from the newly acquired Reggie Bush and draft pick Daniel Thomas.
In the late game the Radiers travel to Denver to take on the Broncos. It remains to be seen how the Broncos will play their quarterbacks, with Kyle Orton handling the starting duties but Tim Tebow (third on the depth chart behind Brady Quinn) remaining a fan favorite and a solid running threat. New coach John Fox will have to figure out a way to beat an Oakland team that beat them decisively twice last season.
The Raiders remain firm behind quarterback Jason Campbell and running back Darren Mcfadden. Though the Raiders have lost 11 straight prime-time games they have beaten the Broncos in the last three meetings and will look to extend their streak.
