Temple Attack in Austria Leaves at least 11 Injured

A fight broke out in a Sikh temple in the Austrian capital of Vienna leaving at least 11 people injured, that number is expected to rise.

It is unclear what caused the fight as some reports have suggested a dispute between rival families while others have said the attack was launched by worshippers of another Sikh temple who had been involved in an ongoing row with those belonging to the Vienna temple.

What is known is that six men, five armed with knives and a sixth carrying a gun, entered the temple and attacked the preacher. Worshippers rushed to his aid and the attackers were quickly swarmed and severely injured before emergency crews arrived and transported them to a hospital.

The condition of the preacher, Shri Guru Ravidas Sabha, is not known. Police have said several people that may have been injured fled the temple before emergency crews arrived.
