Summer Enrichment Programs Increase Student Success at Prestigious Cornell University
SuperCamp’s summer enrichment programs for kids and teens at Cornell University is unsurpassed among New York summer camps for its beauty, heritage, and prestige. Founded in 1865, Cornell’s 745-acre campus is located in the Finger Lakes region of New York State and sits on a hilltop overlooking 40-mile-long Cayuga Lake, the largest of the five Finger Lakes. Creeks and waterfalls fill the gorges on two sides of the campus and visitors are never far from the sight and sound of falling water. This is an area of great natural beauty that intertwines and blends with the university’s graceful quads and inspiring architecture. SuperCamp’s New York summer camps at Cornell have become very popular, so parents are encouraged to enroll their kids and teens as early as possible.
Now in its third year, SuperCamp’s New York summer camps at Cornell have become very popular with students from around the country, and the world. SuperCamp at Cornell offers two unique programs for different age groups, a Junior Forum for middle school students entering grades 6 through 8 in the fall, and a Senior Forum for teens entering grades 9 through 12. Also featured at SuperCamp Cornell is a uniquely designed Parent Weekend program. Many parents throughout the northeast look at New York academic camps for their child’s summer enrichment and it is safe to say that SuperCamp’s Cornell University programs provide learning and life skills that are second to none.
Junior Forum, designed to teach middle school students academic and life skills to help them be more successful inside and outside the classroom, is offered from July 22 – 31, 2009. During this 10-day session, students discover their individual learning styles and develop skills for dealing with a heavier academic and social schedule. They also learn real-world skills by participating in “real-life” activities that enable them to make responsible choices and win the support, understanding, and guidance of their teachers, parents, and peers.
For high school students, Senior Forum offers techniques on how to make the most of every moment, uncover their unique abilities, and develop greater confidence while mastering strategies for academic and personal success. The skills that campers learn through the Senior Forum program help to ease school stress, build study skills, improve grades, and increase test scores, including the SAT and ACT. Students also learn life skills that encourage them to discover their strengths, pursue goals, make big decisions, solve problems, and resolve conflicts. Senior Forum is hosted at Cornell from July 10 – 19, and again from August 3 – 12.
Parent Weekend will be held from July 17 – 19 and will allow parents of SuperCamp students the opportunity to experience for themselves the same knowledge their kids receive through an action-packed 3-day weekend. These parent support camps help parents understand more about the academic and life skills their children learn at SuperCamp. This allows parents to better relate to and support their teens following SuperCamp, and allows parents to appreciate their child’s accomplishments even more.
