Celebrity Fashion Trend: Is Celebrity Pregnancy a Fashion Trend that’s “In”?

Over the years, Hollywood has gone in and out of some rather bizarre celebrity fashion trends.  Many are fondly remembered such as the elbow-length, white gloves from the early 1950s and 1960s. The huge shag hairstyles of the 1960s and 1970s are definitely a thing of the past, also. There was also a small space in time where celebrity adoption was the next big thing, what with Angelina Jolie’s adoption spree beginning in early 2002. It appears the latest celebrity fashion trend is not to adopt; however, but rather to add the seemingly stylish baby bump for both Hollywood actresses and musicians alike.

That’s right; the anti-baby trends of the last two decades are past in which Hollywood starlets were discouraged from having their own family. Just as many of the most glamorous women in the world used to pass on celebrity mommy-hood, they are now exploring pregnancy left and right. Something that comes along with this fashionable new addition, aside from the notoriety, is the ever-increasing demand for celebs to get back into perfect pre-body shape in record time. Among those women are some of the top producing Hollywood starlets around.

If you’ll take a look at 2011, there have been some great celebrity pregnancy and births. On the singer side, well-known musical duo Beyonce and Jay-Z are expecting their first child early next year. This baby is rumored to be the world’s most musical baby before it has even made its grand first appearance! Of the previously well-known girls group, The Spice Girls, both Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham and Melanie Brown (Baby, Posh & Scary) are all welcoming new additions to their family as well.

The list continues with controversial punk star, Pink, in June, as well as Jewel’s first bundle of joy in July. Two musical superstars-Fantasia and Mariah Carey-are both expecting children soon also. The musical crowds are not the only ones jumping on this baby fashion trend bandwagon, either. Well-known celebrities such as Jenna Fischer, January Jones, Tori Spelling, Keri Russell and Jennifer Garner among many others are proudly displaying their fashion-forward baby bumps. One thing that these seemingly perfect celebrities can’t deny, though, is the incredibly imperfect side effects of pregnancy.

Pregnancy mishaps, side effects and post pregnancy woes are not avoidable by even the highest celebrity status. Yes; the unfortunate but all-too-common pregnancy incontinence issue has been reported among some of the most notable pregnant celebs. This also includes rumors of stretch marks, puffy ankles and excessive reflux. Even the embarrassing issue with piles and postpartum cannot be escaped by the wildly rich and famous.

One of the most infamous examples of a celebrity struggling with postpartum depression would include Brooke Shields, who even wrote a book on the experience. While it is yet to be learned which celebrities have struggled with hemorrhoids during pregnancy, it’s not hard to guess how many have been affected. Among one of the leading side effects of pregnancy, there is little question as to whether or not fashion-forward celebs are keeping their search for a hemorrhoids treatment home remedy on the down-low. Either way, the ever-growing rate of pregnant celebrities seems to climb the charts as one of the most popular, fashion-forward trends of Hollywood to-date.
