Several months ago, FEECO joined forces
with Where Did You See Me, a web-based company that aims to photographically document
the transportation of large equipment through contests. FEECO was the first
company ever to host a WDYSM contest: rotary ore drums heading from Wisconsin
to South Africa.
Where Did You See Me banners were put on each rotary drum,
inviting anyone who saw one of the drums to take a picture and submit it to the
WDYSM website. As the drum made its way across Wisconsin, FEECO received a huge
response from people spotting the drum. As the end of August brought the
contest to a close, winners were announced, and prizes are being sent out for
the top five photos.
The first prize winner won with 67 votes on his photo. In a
statement about the contest, the winner said,“I thought it was a great idea for
getting people involved with tracking the progress of the transport. I was
amazed at the size of the drum and the transport truck. I wouldn’t have guessed
they could have got it through that part of town. Watching them negotiate the
small intersections was fun.”
FEECO received an overwhelmingly positive response from
participants, especially the local community. “We’d do it again in a
heartbeat,” said President of FEECO, Dan Madigan. “We were truly touched by the
response we received on the transportation of these drums. It was a lot of fun
to see how people responded to it.”
