Foundations Recovery Network Roswell is proud to announce the opening of its Relief and Recovery program, a compassionate and effective assessment and treatment program for chronic pain patients with co-occurring addiction.
Recent research suggests that up to one in four chronic pain patients also struggle with addiction. Foundations’ Relief and Recovery assessment program helps to determine diagnosis of substance use disorder in chronic pain patients.
At the start of an assessment, patients are assigned to an assessment coordinator who provides step by step instructions to guide them through the assessment process. A clinical liaison works directly with the referring provider to gather initial referral information and to communicate patient progress effectively throughout the assessment process.
The goal of Foundations’ Relief and Recovery program is to work as strategic partners with each referent to ultimately return the patient back to the provider’s practice.
Foundations Roswell offers a treatment component to their Relief and Recovery program for those patients meeting criteria for chronic pain with substance use disorder. Foundations Roswell also offers ambulatory detoxification services for patients entering the program or for those patients preparing for an interventional pain procedure, such as a spinal cord stimulator or an indwelling pain pump.
“The name of our program is very appropriate.” said clinical liaison Dr. John Williamson. “This patient population needs relief from physical pain as well as relief from the pain of addiction. They need someone to listen to them and to treat them with dignity and compassion, both of which are cornerstones of our program.”
At Foundations Roswell, nationally recognized addiction psychiatrists and pain management physicians interact with patients and doctorate level clinical liaisons work with referents. The Foundations Recovery Network model of treatment has been tested and proven though 11 federally funded research studies. Compared to the national average of traditional programs, this model demonstrates twice the success rate for maintaining sobriety one year post-treatment.
