Philipp Kohlschreiber’s impressive run through the early rounds at the French Open continued on Saturday as the German snagged his biggest win yet after stunning Novak Djokovic in straight sets 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.
Kohlschreiber was able to take advantage of the opportunities presented to him on Saturday as he broke Djokovic on five of his ten chances and capitalized on Djokovic’s 38 unforced errors.
Kohlschreiber has yet to capture a Grand Slam singles title with his best finish coming at the 2008 Australian Open where he reached the fourth round. Prior to this year his best finish at the French Open was a second round finish in 2006 and 2007.
