Abortion Doctor Shot Dead Inside Wichita Church

An abortion doctor, Dr. George Tiller, was gunned down at the Reformation Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kansas on Sunday.

Tiller had reportedly been inside the church shortly after 10:00 a.m. when he was shot and killed by an unknown assailant. The 67-year-old doctor had been a controversial figure for several decades due to his willingness to perform late-term abortions and his clinic had been the site of protests and vandalism as recently as this month.

Members of the Reformation Lutheran Church who were inside during the shooting were kept inside by police as they tried to determine if the killer was still present and those arriving for services were kept ina parking lot.
