LeviTee, a maker of an innovative golf glove that places foam pads between the fingers to promote a relaxed hand and alleviate tension and fatigue in the hands and arms, has signed on as the latest sponsor of the 2011 U.S. Putting Tour Championship, which starts on September 26 at The Crossings in Carlsbad, California.
Several of the top-finishing amateur golfers in the putting championship will receive LeviTee golf gloves as part of their merchandise prizes. The LeviTee glove combines tour quality cabretta leather with a durable synthetic material to provide a comfortable feel, in addition to the functional benefits.
"We're excited to have LeviTee on board as a USPT Championship sponsor," said USPT president, Jim Hartley. "I've been using a LeviTee glove for a few weeks now and I've been amazed at how much more relaxed my grip is, which, in turn is increasing my clubhead speed."
Hartley explained that grip force tests conducted by LeviTee with a Hand Dynamometer have shown up to a 30 percent reduction in grip pressure for the LeviTee glove versus a regular golf glove.
Hartley also indicated that golfers can still enter the
putting tournament by going to the U.S. Putting Tour website at
www.usputtingtour.com. The top prize for golfers competing professionally is $10,000. The complete cash purse will be announced prior to the start of play on Monday, September 26.
Golfers can play their first round on any one of the first six days of the
golf tournament, September 26 through October 1. Seventy-two golfers will advance to Round 2, which takes place the morning of October 2. The final round will occur on the afternoon of October 2, after which awards will be presented on the green.
Other golf sponsors participating in the 2011 USPT Championship include golf equipment maker Ashdon Golf, AimPro putting alignment products, Rubio's Mexican Restaurants, the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa, and Prilosec OTC.
