Dawna Lee Heising interviewed Sher LeFever, Mark Barnes and Rick Borgia of Child Predator Busters for “Eye on Entertainment”, and covered the red carpet at the Los Angeles Music Awards at the Music Box Theatre in Hollywood, California, in late November 2008.
Child Predator Busters was founded by Sher LeFever, who is also the owner and CEO of the Confederate Starz Artist Management Agency in Arizona. LeFever's passion for this project began many years ago when she discovered that a so-called family friend named Derek had victimized her three children for four years. After fighting an uphill court battle for a year and a half, Derek was sentenced to prison for twenty-five years in the Arizona Department of Corrections. After her granddaughter was molested by another predator named Paul, LeFever helped with that court case and Paul was sentenced to 15 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections.
Based on her success in working with the authorities, LeFever developed Child Predator Busters. The goal of the organization is to protect children from predators. The message to the public is that if anyone sees anything suspicious online that looks a predator could be targeting children, the link should be sent to the organization to investigate. Child Predator Busters will deliver the information to the right authorities in the proper agencies and also work with the families and law enforcement to advocate the cases. The mission of the organization is to assist all levels of law enforcement by providing them with leads and gather enough information to give them convictable cases.
Rick Borgia, a successful New York actor, is the national spokesperson for Child Predator Busters. Another supporter for the organization is Mark Barnes, an award-winning musician from Maryville, Tennessee, who is managed by Confederate Starz Management Agency.
