Lance Bass of ‘N Sync silences the rumors declares, “I’m Gay”

With Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone, JC Chasez, and Chris Kirkpatrick in mind, Lance Bass hid his sexual orientation from everybody. Fearing that revealing such a fact would have a detrimental effect on ‘N Sync Bass remained silent. "I knew that I was in this popular band and I had four other guys' careers in my hand, and I knew that if I ever acted on it or even said (that I was gay), it would overpower everything.”

After mounting rumors surrounding his orientation, Bass had enough. He had said that all the talk was “starting to affect my daily life” and wanted to take some control over the situation.

He has received support from band mate Fatone, who has openly supported Bass. Actress and long time friend Christina Applegate has expressed her support as well "I've always accepted him as who he is.”

The sense of relief with coming out seems to be the greatest reward for the former boy band superstar, "I don't think it's wrong, I'm not devastated going through this. I'm more liberated and happy than I’ve been my whole life. I'm just happy."
