Chaz Bono says his debut on Dancing with the Stars was a success as far as he is concerned. Bono, who is the show’s first transgender contestant, received praise from the judges for his cha cha and scored a respectable 17 out of 30 points. The 42-year-old tells People magazine he had a “good time” despite the controversy that surrounds ABC’s decision to have him on the show.
"I was nervous going into it, but I was also excited. I think it went pretty well. There were certain little things that I messed up or didn't do, but it was good and it was fun. I had a good time doing it,” Bono told People.
"There are certain people who are never going to change their view about anything that's out of their comfort zone," he said. "I went out there and did the best I could for all the people who have been supporting me. I've received tremendous support from people."
