Machine Gun Preacher, starring Gerard Butler, Michelle Monaghan, Kathy Baker, Michael Shannon and Ryan Campos, opens in theaters Friday, September 23. The action drama is based on the true story of Sam Childers, an ex criminal who dedicated his life to rescuing Sudanese children from being forced to become soldiers and sex slaves for the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA).
The film has a runtime of 2 hours 7 minutes and is rated R for violent content including disturbing images, language, some drug use and a scene of sexuality.
