If winning $10,000, a beautiful crystal trophy and the title of America's Best Putter isn't enough, golfers have several more reasons to enter the 2011 USPT Championship next week in Carlsbad.
The host course, The Crossings at Carlsbad, is offering all competitors a special $69 rate for a round of golf that includes a cart. In addition, every participant will receive a 10 percent savings coupon on the purchase of pro shop merchandise.
The Crossings also is providing all golfers with a special entry fee savings for the putting championship. Golfers can go to
http://www.usputtingtour.com/crossings.html to save 60 percent on their entry. They can enter for just $40.
All entrants also will receive a golf ball from presenting sponsor, Ashdon Golf. What makes this ball special, other than the fact that it combines soft feel and shear-resistant durability, is that if the winner of the
putting tournament uses an Ashdon Golf ball on the final day, that winner will receive a new Ashdon Golf driver.
Everyone who enters the USPT Championship also will receive a ball alignment marker from AimPro Golf and a free fish taco certificate from Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill.
In addition, amateurs in the field have a shot at a $10,000 prize in a charity putting contest that the USPT is running in conjunction with the
putting championship. All proceeds from the putting contest go to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad.
Golfers can sign up for the golf tournament at U.S. Putting Tour web page listed above and in person during the first six days of Championship Week, September 26 through October 1, while spots remain available.
