How Does God View Christian Addiction Treatment?

The Disease of Addction Affects Christians

Addicts must understand that God wants them to feel comfortable asking for His help. There is no shame in admitting that one is suffering from the disease of drug and alcohol addiction. God encourages every person to seek His love and grace. Christian rehab is one direction to pursue in finding forgiveness.

The Bible says, in Isaiah 41:13, "For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your fight hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you."

When addicts surrender to God, amazing healing happens. It is a powerful change when one puts all their trust in God, and through Christian addiction treatment, addicts are given the knowledge and understanding that God will never forsake them, especially in their time of need. God can be found in christian treatment programs.

The Bible says, in Psalm 18:2, "The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."

God is proud of people who recognize that they need treatment for their addiction to drugs and alcohol. He does not view them as weak or damaged, but having the potential for a fresh start with His love. By studying the Bible and prayer, Christian addiction treatment empowers people to take control of their life once again and renounce their old ways. God wants addicts to know that there is celebration in accepting that His love will never fail and that recovery is within everyone’s reach when the journey is made with God by your side.

In Psalm 46:1-3, the Bible says, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea. Though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."
