The legendary Beatles singer has filed for divorce from Heather Mills McCartney sighting “unreasonable behavior” as reason for the split. Paul claimed in his petition to the court that his soon to be ex was “argumentative” and “rude to staff.”
After the split became public McCartney wanted to handle the proceedings in an amicable manner. The famous singer/songwriter offered Heather £30 million which she rejected.
Rumors abound as to the exact nature of why McCartney and his wife of four years split. Heather’s relationship with her stepchildren is fractured at best. She recently confronted Paul in concerns with his conversation with Stella, his daughter. Heather’s past has also brought a lot of controversy and public embarrassment. She appeared nude in a German sex book and has been accused of working as a high class prostitute (a claim she denies).
It has been estimated by some that she could walk away from these proceedings with as much as £200 million of McCartney’s £863 million fortune.
McCartney responded to Heather’s refusal of a settlement by hiring some very high profile divorce lawyers. Fiona Shackleton, who represented Prince Charles in his divorce from Princess Diana, and Nicholas Mosyn, also known as Mr. Payout, will lead McCartney’s cause.
Prior to their June, 2002 marriage Paul did not ask Heather to sign a prenuptial agreement because he felt it unromantic. The couple have a two year old daughter, Beatrice.
