In spite of the struggling economy, Liberty University Online, the world’s largest private nonprofit university, is finding that its student body is larger and more loyal than ever.
“LU Online programs are of the highest quality because they are comparable in every way to the programs offered at our residential campus,” said Ronald Hawkins, vice provost for Liberty’s graduate school and online programs. “We offer a large variety of accredited degrees, which makes Liberty really stand out among other online schools.”
Liberty University, located in Lynchburg, Va., is the world’s largest Christian university. It has 12,560 students attending classes on its 625-acre residential campus and 61,594 students in its thriving online education program.
On the whole, online education continues to grow as more Americans are looking for ways to expand their job qualifications and make themselves more attractive to potential employers. Students can continue working or job hunting even while earning a master’s or doctorate degree. Liberty University has added nearly 10,000 students to its online programs in the past year alone.
“People are drawn to the excellence of our programs and our low tuition,” Hawkins said, speaking of the university’s record enrollment. “When compared to other top online universities, our tuition rates are extremely affordable.”
Liberty remains committed to its mission to train “Champions for Christ” who will impact their workplace and the world. This Bible-based approach to education is unique among American universities.
