Pio
Sagapolutele, a former defensive lineman for three NFL teams during a
seven-year career, has died at the age of 39 after suffering an aneurysm on
Saturday in Chandler, Arizona.
Sagapolutele
was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the 1991 NFL Draft and played for the club
through the 1995 season. In 1996 he signed with the New England Patriots and
was a starter in the 1997 Super Bowl, a game the Patriots dropped to the Green
Bay Packers. The following season Sagapolutele signed with the New Orleans
Saints and retired at the end of the season.

is survived by his wife and four children.
