Miss California Carrie Prejean Fired for Continued Breach of Contract

Miss California Carrie Prejean has in fact lost her crown after producers of the Miss California USA pageant opted to fire the 22-year-old beauty for continued breach of contract.

It was just last month that Prejean was told she would be able to keep her title following a highly publicized press conference in which she received the backing of Miss USA pageant owner Donald Trump.

Prejean hit national headlines after she responded to a question regarding gay marriage during the Miss USA pageant. Her answer declaring support for traditional marriage quickly made her a target and the days and weeks that followed she was under constant attack from gay rights groups and individuals.

Shortly after the Miss USA pageant Prejean was called into question for several photos that were leaked that many called a breach of her Miss California contract. At a May 12 press conference in New York it was decided that Prejean would be allowed to keep her title and continue with her functions as Miss California.

That decision has now been reversed as Keith Lewis, the executive director of K2 Productions, the independent producers of the Miss California USA pageant, announced on Wednesday “it has become abundantly clear that Carrie has no desire to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together.”
