Cleveland Cavaliers Courting Shaquille O’Neal, Could Send Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic to Phoenix Suns

In an attempt to pair LeBron James with a legitimate big-man and perhaps the missing piece in a championship run the Cleveland Cavaliers have reportedly stepped up their efforts to land Shaquille O’Neal and are said to be prepared to ship Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic to the Phoenix Suns for the Big Cactus.

The Cavaliers are certainly feeling the pressure to add that missing piece following their disappointing loss in the Eastern Conference Finals and many feel the move to pick up Shaquille would show LeBron the team was serious about an NBA Championship.

LeBron is entering the final year of his contract and many believe he could test free-agency if he doesn’t think the pieces are in place in Cleveland.

For Phoenix there is no illusion that Shaquille O’Neal will lead them to a title and at this point they may be willing to deal his $20 million contract to the Cavs for Wallace’s $14 million and Pavlovic’s $4.9 million. Wallace has said he is considering retirement and the Suns could potentially buy him out, saving the club a significant amount of money.
