Officials in Yemen have said they have found the bodies of seven foreign nationals who had been kidnapped last week while on a picnic in a northern region of the country.
The seven foreigners were part of a group of nine foreigners, seven Germans, a British engineer and a South Korean teacher, taken hostage and authorities do not appear optimistic about the fate of the other two. There were three children in the group and at least one of the bodies found on Monday was a child.
There have been no claims of responsibility in the kidnapping but officials have blamed the Shia rebel group Huithi Zadi, led by Abdulmalik al-Houthi. That group has denied the charges and many in area have blamed al-Qaeda.
