Kentucky Wildcats Guard Jodie Meeks to Forgo Senior Season, Remain in 2009 NBA Draft

Kentucky Wildcats star shooting guard Jodie Meeks has opted to forgo his senior season in Lexington and remain in the 2009 NBA Draft.

Meeks is coming off a junior campaign in which he led the SEC in scoring at 23.7 points a game and many at Kentucky felt he would return after the school signed John Calipari as the new head coach and several of the nation’s top recruits committed to the program.

In a statement released through the school Meeks said, “"I want to thank the fans and the city of Lexington. They have been great and I will always be a Kentucky Wildcat. I feel comfortable with my decision and I'm confident in my ability. My family and I talked over the weekend and decided this was the best decision.”
