EEOC files a sexual harassment lawsuit against Mississippi store manager

Monday, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against a grocery store manager alleging multiple incidents of harassment.

The federal lawsuit alleges that Jeff Stewart, an Operations Manager for the Sav-A-Lot in West Jackson, repeatedly subject a female employees to sexual harassment. One employee was fired after she reported her allegations to the store manager. Firing an employee for reporting harassment is illegal and by hiring a highly-skilled sexual harassment an employee can sue for back wages.

According to the allegations, Stewart groped female employees. He also took sexual photographs and videos of female employees and posted them in the workplace. Stewart also allegedly used produce form the store to mimic a sexual organ by stuffing it down his pants.

The female employee stated that when she refused his sexual advances he fired her shortly afterwards. Sexual harassment lawyers are familiar with retaliation lawsuits and represent many clients subjected to this punishment.

The store’s manager denies the allegations and has stated that the employee filed the lawsuit out of revenge. And said he fired her years ago after an altercation with a fellow employee, but she came back and begged for her job back. She was fired again August over another altercation with a different employee. The EEOC said the second altercation was insignificant and the other employee was not fired.

This type of behavior can make the workplace a very hostile environment and sometimes it is necessary to hire a sexual harassment attorney to put a stop to it.
