Dawna Lee Heising of “Eye on Entertainment” Covers the 19th Annual Night of 100 Stars

John Cox Directs Show on the Red Carpet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Oscar Night

Beverly Hills, CA - The 19th Annual Night of 100 Stars Oscar party was held on Sunday, February 22, 2009, in the Beverly Hills Hotel’s Crystal Ballroom, to celebrate the 81st Annual Academy Awards. The formal sit-down dinner included a live showing of the 81st annual Academy Awards as they happened at the Shrine Auditorium.

Event creator and former music super agent, Norby Walters hosted the party once again, and has produced this star-studded, black tie event for 19 years. Says Walters, “This year, the industry deserves to party in celebration of one of the best box office years ever” Hollywood celebrities and behind the scenes hot shots, including previous Oscar winners and nominees, gathered under the roof of the Beverly Hills Hotel for the exclusive viewing party of the biggest awards night of the year. The legendary hotel, known locally as the “Pink Palace”, is the perfect place to house the star-studded black tie gala. Not 100, but up to 200 stars appeared on the red carpet this year.

The guests included Academy Award winners and nominees of past years, and the 400 current Academy members who voted on the awards. The media has always rated the Night of 100 Stars as one of the top Award parties. The Daily News rates "Night of 100 Stars" as the number one awards party just for the sheer number of celebrities who attend each year. Not Your Daughter’s Jeans® (NYDJ), creator of Tummy Tuck™ Jeans, co-sponsored the event along with The Hollywood Reporter, a mainstay in the entertainment industry, and Bacchus Energy Drink.

Night of 100 Stars has a very special public relations icon in charge. Edward Lozzi, of the Edward Lozzi & Associates public relations agency in Beverly Hills, formerly worked at the White House, and is one of the "movers and shakers" of Hollywood.

Dawna Lee Heising conducted interviews on the red carpet for the television show, “Eye on Entertainment”, shown on Time Warner Cable. Her gown was designed by Jay Reynolds, and is from the 2008 Spring Collection of Panoply by the House of Wu in Fort Myers, Florida. John Cox directed and filmed the show. Pictures were taken by David McNeil and Paul Heising.
