On 5th, 6th and 7th October, the Madrid Trade Fair Centre (IFEMA) will be housing the most important international book fair in Spain: Liber 2011. This will be the 29th edition of an event that attracts publishing sector professionals from both Spain and Latin America, in search of new contacts and information about other countries’ markets.
Special attention will be paid to digital books this year. As we know, they are becoming increasingly popular. Indeed, most publishing houses are beginning to digitize their content and sell more and more e-books. In view of this, Liber 2011 has created the Liber Digital section in this edition, focusing on content, ideas and technologies.
In the fair’s Digital Corner, marketing firms, distributors and other service providers will be able to exhibit their products and solutions designed to respond to the publishing sector’s current needs generated by the new digital environment.
Semantix will be at the event, presenting Dixio technology and its own digitization format, called “.dix”. Fully compatible with ePub, it will enable publishers and distributors to sell more dictionaries and encyclopaedic books. It will also help users to buy specialized texts, add them to their e-readers and use them at a click while they are reading.
Romania is the guest country at Liber 2011, which is promoted by the Spanish Publishers’ Guild (Federación de Gremios de Editores).
