At The Retreat, located in the Wayzata Big Woods of Minnesota, you’ll find an approach to alcoholism and drug addiction recovery not found in other Minnesota treatment centers.  Our guests are introduced to the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous by our volunteers, men and women who have reclaimed their lives from drug addiction and alcoholism using the spiritual principles taught in the A.A program.  The Retreat encourages an atmosphere of peer support amongst and between our guests.

With daily Twelve Step meetings, the basic principles of the program of Alcoholics Anonymous are studied and explored in a personal setting, something not found in the clinical environment of most alcohol rehabs.  Our volunteers foster and facilitate emotional and spiritual growth, thus allowing our guests to understand the nature of the illness that is alcoholism and drug addiction.  It is through this understanding that our guests begin laying the foundation for personal change and a commitment to using the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous on a daily basis.

Accessible and affordable treatment is one of the hallmarks of The Retreat.  A thirty day stay costs only $4175.00.  The Retreat is dedicated to assisting anyone with a desire to start a new life in recovery regardless of financial status.  Scholarships may be available for qualified participants. 

The Retreat also recognizes that alcoholism and drug addiction affect the family members and loved ones of our clients.  The Retreat Family Program was designed with this in mind, allowing family and loved ones to begin their own journey if spiritual healing by exploring how their lives have been impacted by their loved one’s disease.
