Cosmetology Student Competition and Tradeshow Featured on BeautySchools.edu

5th Annual Future Professionals Expo Hosted by Empire Education Group

New this week on BeautySchools.edu, the most comprehensive site for cosmetology school information, locations and more, is the featured event which occurred on June 7th and 8th in Hershey, PA. Empire Beauty Schools, one of the largest cosmetology educators in the nation, hosted its 5th annual student competition and tradeshow event—the Future Professionals Expo.

 

Beauty industry manufacturers and vendors such as Outre, Nexxus, Sally Beauty Supply, and more were just a few of the exhibitors at the event in addition to nearly 80 other beauty vendors showcasing their products, latest tools and trends in the beauty industry.

 

The event, which was hosted by Empire Education Group—the parent company of the 88 Empire Beauty Schools across the U.S., offered a Career Corner where student attendees could interview on site with salons such as JCPenney’s, Great Clips, SmartStyle, MasterCuts, Hair Cuttery, Ratner Company, Regis Corporation, Holiday Hair Salons, and Outlooks for Hair. The Arrojo Salon from NYC additionally offered Empire Education Group alumni information on attending advanced cosmetology classes to improve their skills.

 

The event also included specialized beauty workshops and seminars for students to learn the latest trends, styles and techniques in the beauty industry from top professionals.

 

Possibly the highlight of the event was the student competition phase where hundreds of Empire Beauty School students from the 88 schools across the nation gathered and showcased their skills and creative talents. The winners from the various competitions won educational trips compliments of Empire Education Group, Matrix, Goldwell, Schoeneman Beauty Supply, and Great Clips to destinations such as Florida, Maryland, Nevada, Canada, and New York to learn from beauty industry professionals. Of the special guests in attendance, they included guest artist Shannon Lamm of Goldwell, Edward Teitel from HAI, Teresa Lewis of OPI, and Trang Nguyen of Odyssey Nail Systems. Many of the other prizes the students won were compliments of Odyssey Nail Systems, Burmax computers, Diamond Shears, Bodyography Professional Cosmetics, OPI, Redken, Matrix, Conair, and Shoeneman Beauty Supply

 

The competitions for the 2009 Future Professionals Expo included:  Long Hair Evening Design, Ladies Trend Cut and Style with Color, Make-Up Artistry Storyboard, Men's Cut and Style Storyboard, and Nail Art Display. Recognition and awards were also given for National Future Professional of the Year, National Educator of the Year, Future Professional Stylist Team, and Total Team.
