Defense Secretary Robert Gates Confident U.S. Can Protect Itself from Potential North Korean Missile Strike

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates has expressed confidence that the military was capable of protecting American soil from any type of North Korean missile strikes.

Gates was responding to questions regarding the security of Hawaii, a territory reportedly targeted by North Korea, when he stated the U.S. was “in a good position” to prevent any type of missile attack.

According to Gates the deployment of missiles and radar have been approved and will provide support if North Korea attempts to carry out such plans.
