Oscar Award winner Clint Eastwood honored at 24th annual Golden Boot Awards

The Oscar Award winning director of Unforgiven and star of western classics The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Hang ‘Em High, and High Plains Drifter was presented the Founder’s Award by the Motion Picture & Television Fund for his contributions to the Western genre.

Eastwood is only the second director to be awarded the honor, joining John Ford in the exclusive list. It is the eighth time such an award has been presented by the Motion Picture & Television Fund in the 24 years they have held the Golden Boots Awards ceremony.

The Motion Picture & Television Fund, founded in 1921, provides health care and other services for those in the entertainment community.

Unforgiven won best picture in 1993, an award Eastwood would win again with Million Dollar Baby in 2005. Eastwood’s co-star in that film, Morgan Freeman, presented him with the Founder’s Award on Saturday.
