Former Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon’s condition “very serious” according to Dr. Yitzhak Zeides

Reports from the Sheba Medical Center have called Ariel Sharon’s condition “very serious.” An MRI scan of former Israeli prime minister showed further deterioration of brain function stemming from his massive stroke in January, his urine function has declined significantly and he has developed pneumonia in both lungs.

Sharon was rushed to intensive care almost three weeks ago to undergo dialysis as a result of kidney failure. While in intensive care it was discovered that Sharon had developed an infection as well. He has been attached to a blood filtration system since July 26th.

The 78 year-old former prime minister has been administered powerful antibiotics and steroids in an attempt to stabilize his decline. He has been in a comma since his January 4th when he suffered a massive stroke.

Ehud Olmert, Israel’s current prime minister filled Sharon’s position after it was determined Ariel would be incapacitated and unable to actively govern.
