After nearly six years, marriage is too hard to handle; Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson split.

For Kate Hudson it took a little more than 10 days to lose her guy. In reality it took nearly six years for the Almost Famous star to split with rocker husband Chris Robinson.

Hudson’s rep Brad Cafarelli issued a statement saying “Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson have confirmed that they are separated.” No details have been released as to the cause of the split but Hudson had offered a bit of foreshadowing in an interview with Elle scheduled to come out in September “No one should get married if they think it’s going to be a fairy tale.”

Robinson, who fronts the band Black Crowes, just finished a leg of their tour in Colorado last night. They are scheduled to play in Virginia beginning September 7th.  Kate has been busy as well with a staring role in You, Me and Dupree and upcoming pictures that include Fool’s Gold which she shares top billing with Matthew McConaughey.

Chris Robinson and Kate Hudson have been married since New Years Eve 2000 and have a two year old son, Ryder Russell Robinson, together.
