Apple, Inc. CEO Steve Jobs Reportedly Received Liver Transplant, Expected to Return to Work Soon

Apple, Inc. chief executive Steve Jobs received a liver transplant about two months ago according to a CNBC report but is now believed to be in a position to return to work later this month.

There has been no confirmation from Apple, Inc. concerning a liver transplant but the Wall Street Journal also reported the procedure, stating the operation took place in Tennessee. That WSJ report also suggested there were a few Apple directors who were aware of the surgery and had discussed the issue with the doctor handling the transplant.

Jobs stepped away from day-to-day operations at Apple nearly six months ago after citing health reasons but he elected to keep those reasons private. The 54-year-old has overcome pancreatic cancer and his health has been a major point of interest for many.

It is believed Jobs will return to work part time before resuming the duties he held prior to stepping away.
