Get ready to celebrate National Cornhole Day in only ways that true cornhole lovers can – a set of boards and bags, family and friends, and game on!
With the persistence of Rocky Conteduca a Las Vegas, Nevada resident and the help of the American Cornhole Organization, the last Saurday of June has been deemed National Cornhole Day.
Rocky had a vision last Spring of cornhole players designating a specific day of the year to the fun of cornhole. Cornhole boards and bags would be set up in neighborhood parks, playgrounds, backyards, campsites, and parking lots, in anticipation of people from all walks of life, young and old, enjoying this special game. What a wonderful world this would be, Rocky thought.
Rocky knew that lasting friendships are started with the simple game of boards and bags. He had seen firsthand how his neighborhood changed from neighbors who would barely say hi before cornhole, to neighbors who took turns cutting each others lawns and bringing in each others trash cans after cornhole. The game of cornhole was the glue that brought the neighborhood together and allowed neighborhood friendships to blossom. He wanted the rest of the nation to experience the same.
Rocky suggested a National Cornhole Day to the American Cornhole Organization (ACO). His suggestion was met with great enthusiasm. The last Saturday of June would be declared National Cornhole Day. Of course, a National Cornhole Day did make sense. What better way to bring this great nation back from despair. Cornhole would give it Hope, not Washington, DC.
