After 28 years together, Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed have tied the knot. The couple, who have two children, exchanged vows in an outdoor ceremony at The Beverly Hills Hotel Saturday evening. Daughter Sophie, 19, served as maid of honor and sang Etta James’ “At Last” for the first dance while son Nick served as best man.
Guests numbered over 400 and included Hugh Hefner and Bill Maher as well as KISS band members Paul Stanley, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer. The wedding was taped for a special episode of the family’s A&E reality show, Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels.
Simmons, 62, and Tweed, 54, were engaged in July after working through numerous problems in their relationship. "It is time for me to grow up. I'm 62. I've been doing a lot of wacky stuff for an awfully long time…and there's nobody I've ever said 'I love you' to," Simmons recently told Entertainment Tonight.
