Earthquake Rocks South Central Alaska

A 5.3 magnitude earthquake rocked south central Alaska on Monday as residents hurried for cover while the ground shook for several seconds.

 

The tremor hit about 55 miles northwest of Anchorage and could be felt over a wide stretch of the south central part of the state.

 

There have been no reports of serious damage or injuries and the Alaska Tsunami Warning Center stated there would be no tsunami generator from the quake.
