Innovative New Coaching Aid Improves Field Communications

You have thousands of ways to communicate with a team or individual at a glance by selecting the number or colors of blades and their positioning. It is virtually impossible to misread signs, and even more difficult for opponents to pick up on them! As an example in softball you may choose to:

• Designate 1 color each for a pivot bunt, a slap, a hit and run, a suicide squeeze, etc. Assign 2 colors each for a steal, and a “bunt for a hit.” For instance, if red means slap, display red closest to the field with all the other blades up as distraction. Or display the red as the center blade  between two or four other colors.
• Think someone is catching on?  Just change the direction of the fan: toward the infield, toward the dug out, up, down, or sideways but the color assignments can stay the same.
• Option : Designate one color as the indicator and the color displayed next to it, or above it , or below it, the action. Or, use fewer blades and designate location of color(s)  or use number of blades to give your instructions.
• Call pitches, pick off plays , or move fielders from the dugout with just a look from them.
