Five students injured after school bus crashes with truck

Officials are investigating an accident that occurred early Friday morning to determine if they will issue any citations.

The accident involved a half-size school bus with several students on-board and a pick-up truck, which hit the bus head-on. Ten people were sent to the hospital with minor injuries after the accident.

The accident happened early Friday morning on Happy Hollow Road. The bus sustained the most of the damage to the front end. According to Rock County Sheriff’s office the accident was caused by a lane deviation on behalf of the truck driver, John Lewis, 21. Police believe that Lewis, who was traveling eastbound, was blinded by the sun.

Accident victims who feel like that they need to be compensated for their injuries should employ a truck accident attorney.

The bus had five students and two adults on board at the time of the collision. They were taken to a local hospital and released on Friday. All the students on the bus were also taken to the hospital but were released the same day. All parents were notified immediately.
