Detroit city contractor sued for sexual harassment

City contractor and friend of Detroit’s ex-mayor Kwame Kilpatrick has been accused of sexual harassment and is the subject of a harassment lawsuit filed by a former employee.

The lawsuit, which was filed this week, alleges that Bobby Ferguson subjected Gwendolyn Young to repeated sexual harassment while she worked as the human resources director for his company Ferguson Enterprises Inc.  A sexual harassment attorney has the necessary skills to obtain an appropriate settlement for the victims of sexual misconduct.

Young’s lawsuit stated that Ferguson solicited her for sex and told her in August of 2009 that he would “like to get some of that.” Young also said that he grabbed her breasts at Christmas party in 2007.

In another incident, Ferguson showed Young a photo of his genitals taken on a cell phone. Young also stated that Ferguson quit the behavior after she complained but after a short time resumed.

Young says she was fired after she complained that hourly employees weren’t paid overtime and because she refused to attend a Christmas Party.

Ferguson denies any of the claims and stated that Young was let go along with other employees because business declined.

In many cases retaliation often accompanies sexual harassment complaints. If a person is fired for filing a complaint a sexual harassment lawyer will be able to sue for back pay.

Eliminating this type of abuse from the workplace is the primary goal of a sexual harassment attorney
