Missile Strike by U.S. Drone Kills at least 45 in Pakistan

A missile strike by a U.S. drone has killed at least 45 people and injured dozen more in the Taliban stronghold of South Waziristan in Pakistan.

The airstrike came as several people had gathered for a funeral to bury those killed in an earlier U.S. drone attack. South Waziristan has been a battleground between Pakistani military forces and the Pakistani Taliban, led by Baitullah Mehsud.

Mehsud is said to be responsible for ordering numerous deadly attacks and the government has blamed him for a recent mosque bombing that killed more than 30 worshippers.
